About Bhartiya Intellectual Property Practitioners Association (BIPPA)


Established in April 2024, Bhartiya Intellectual Property Practitioners Association (BIPPA) is a Delhi-based non-profit professional body registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.

BIPPA functions as a collective national platform representing Trademark Agents, Patent Agents, IP Attorneys, and Intellectual Property Practitioners across India. The Association is committed to strengthening the professional community engaged in the practice and development of Intellectual Property Law.

To build a strong, ethical, and collaborative Intellectual Property professional community that supports innovation, protects creativity, and contributes to the advancement of India’s IP ecosystem.


Mission & Objectives

BIPPA works with the following objectives:

  • Strengthening the collective voice of IP practitioners at national forums.
  • Facilitating constructive dialogue between professionals and government authorities.
  • Addressing challenges faced by practitioners in day-to-day IP practice.
  • Promoting capacity building, skill enhancement, and continuous legal education.
  • Supporting startups, MSMEs, innovators, and creators in understanding and securing Intellectual Property protection.
  • Encouraging ethical standards, transparency, and professional excellence within the IP community.

Welfare & Professional Development

The Association places significant emphasis on the welfare of IP practitioners by fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and structured training initiatives. Through seminars, workshops, awareness programs, and professional interactions, BIPPA aims to create a supportive ecosystem for both experienced practitioners and emerging professionals.


Membership

Membership of BIPPA is open to:

  • Registered Trademark Agents and Attorneys
  • Registered Patent Agents
  • Intellectual Property Practitioners engaged in IP-related legal and advisory work

As an all-India body, BIPPA seeks to connect professionals from different states through coordinated engagement and representation.


Governance Structure

The affairs of the Association are managed by its Executive Body, which includes:

  • Joint Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • State Coordinators

The Executive Body is responsible for policy direction, administration, member coordination, and implementation of the Association’s objectives in accordance with its governing rules.
